At my property near Bolivar, I will teach you how to barbecue and smoke meat like a pro. Become the hero of your next family barbecue. Learn different proteins, sides, and everything you would want to know about at home barbecue. Using multiple types of smokers, warmers and Blackstone griddles to create backyard feasts. This isn't a competition cooking class, this is a backyard barbecue class. Food not for judges, but for everyone's enjoyment.
You want to learn more about barbecue. You don't have a smoker, or you do and aren't getting the best out of it. You don't know which type of smoker you want. You want to learn how to make the best barbecue meats. You want to be the star of your family get-togethers. Videos and tv shows can only teach so much, OJT with a great teacher is the best way!
You will learn all aspects of conquering backyard barbecue. Choosing proteins, preparing them, types of seasoning, types of wood and smokers, how to start and maintain the fire, preparing sides, and serving it all up for everyone to enjoy. And so much more!
We will start with a little casual get to know each other and then get right into the foods. Discussing the items we will be preparing and all required groceries. Then it's directly into the prep and you will be hands on the entire time. We will get the smokers ready, prep the meats, get them cooking and then focus on the sides. Multiple barbecue discussion topics will be covered in between times working the smoker and preparing the sides. We will finish by enjoying all the food we prepared and a summary discussion of the class.
Growing up around the world but after serving the military in Texas, barbecue has been my life. Using the training techniques the military instilled in me, I have taught barbecue across the country to all ages. I have won multiple awards for my ribs. I have provided barbecue for multiple types of events and have never failed to amaze. Now let me teach you how to do the same.

All groceries required are included as well as bottles of water. Bring your own other drinks or snacks to get you by until the meal is ready at the end of the class. Remember, some classes are overnight, and you might want to be prepared with a sandwich or snacks to hold you over if you want. Any drink items outside of water are BYOB.
I have multiple types of smokers and a large prep area. Classes are held inside and next to a large barndominium garage. There is weather protection in case of bad weather, but no air conditioning. Fans will be used during high temperature days. Chairs and tables are provided for lessons, prep and eating, but feel free to bring any special camp chairs you want for either inside or sitting around the fire.
There will be time between putting the food on the smoker and when we eat. Some of the time will be filled with discussions and some will be filled with instructional sessions.
There is also a 130-yard Par-3 hole on the property, an 18-hole disc golf course and a half-mile walking trail that goes through the woods. Sit around the fire pit, chat or just relax.
There is a smoking area outside that anyone can use for smoking purposes while they are here. All drinking must be done in moderation and is BYOB. The property is 420 friendly but moderation must be observed as well.
